Wilus is pleased to announce that it is a founding member in Sisvel's new Wi-Fi 6 patent pool. The pool provides access to the standard-essential Wi-Fi 6 patents owned by Wilus and four other founding members on fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory terms.
The Sisvel Wi-Fi 6 pool features an innovative new payment framework known as the Licensing Incentive Framework for Technologies (LIFT). The scheme adjusts licensees' royalty payments based on the percentage of the market that is licensed.
Wilus CEO Dr. Jin Sam Kwak said: “Wilus endorses LIFT, the alternative scheme for sponsoring the adoption of this new technology for implementers. Adjusting royalty payments based on the global market penetration of Wi-Fi 6 licenses can incentivize adoption. With LIFT, the Wi-Fi 6 pool is made more attractive to potential licensees.”
More information about the Sisvel Wi-Fi 6 program can be found at the press release linked below.
