On December 21, 2017, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) certified the MPEG-H 3D audio binaural rendering technology developed by WILUS as a New Excellent Technology (NET).
The unique binaural rendering technology developed by WILUS, which realizes stereoscopic sound through two-channel output, has been adopted as a standard and applied in products such as Ultra-HD TVs.
NET certification (신기술 인증) is designed to facilitate the early discovery of excellent new technologies developed by Korean companies, research institutes, and universities. The program promotes the commercialization of these new technologies and aims to facilitate early market entry.
Dr. Ju-hyung Son, WILUS Wi-Fi standards expert, attended the ‘Joint workshop for IETF/IEEE standard’ hosted by the Open Standards and ICT Association. Dr. Son gave talks on Standardization phases of WLAN technology and IEEE 802.11ax HEW standards.
CEO of WILUS, Dr. Jin Sam Kwak was selected and awarded by the Ministry of Science and ICT of Korea for the achievements on Wi-Fi standardization. Dr. Kwak was presented with the award (표준화 유공분야 장관표창) by the Minister of Science and ICT of Korea.
WILUS was selected and awarded as the Young IP Pioneers Award (청년지식재산인상) by the Presidential council on Intellectual Property. The Young IP Pioneers Award is given to organizations and individuals that encourage the development, protection, utilization and commercialization of IP.
Dr. Woo Jin Anh, WILUS Wi-Fi standards expert, attended the ‘Seminar for Standardization for IOT Connectivity’ hosted by the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA), and he gave talks on Standardization phases for 'IEEE 802.11ba’.
